Locally Grown! This is the theme of the 86th Annual Yorktown Grange Fair that will be held on September 9-12, 2010. A true agricultural fair, unique in Westchester County, the Yorktown Grange Fair provides family fun and entertainment while preserving the rural heritage of northern Westchester. Visitors to the fair will be able to sample food demonstrations (made with local ingredients) from local chefs and restaurants that will take place in the commercial tent area. The Grange Fair is honored to welcome chef and restauranteur Jonathan Pratt, owner of Peter Pratt’s Inn in Yorktown Heights and Umami Café in Croton on Hudson, NY. Pratt, who was named Best Green Chef by Westchester Magazine in 2009, along with the cooking demonstrations, will be one of the judges for the fair’s popular baking contest.
