All About Hummingbirds
Learn about the hummingbird species which occur on the Upper Texas Coast and discover why and how hummingbirds migrate. Examine some of the unusual characteristics of hummingbirds including their ability to hover in mid-air and to fly backwards. Get tips on how to attract hummingbirds to your landscape in every season. Arboretum naturalist Bill Eley, who has over 30 years of experience birding on the Gulf Coast as well as Mexico and South America, will be teaching this class and leading a Saturday morning field trip on Sept. 18. Cost is $30 for Arboretum members; $40 for non-members.
