The 950+ acre Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Nature Park is located in East Nashville adjacent to Shelby Park, one of the oldest parks in the Metro Parks system. With approximately three miles of Cumberland River frontage and twelve miles of paved and primitive trails, the area features bottomland hardwood forests, open fields, wetlands and streams and excellent habitat for birds, amphibians and more.
The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center is a great place to begin your visit to the Park. Pick up a map, talk to a naturalist, learn about the natural and cultural history of the area, view the Cumberland River, check out a free cruiser-style Nashville GreenBike, or get a program schedule of upcoming free events. Learn about a green roof, rain chains, and other sustainable features of the facility. Programs are offered year-round on a variety of topics and the nature center features rotating art exhibits throughout the year.
