The Exploratorium is San Francisco's museum of science, art, and human perception. It opens on April 17, 2013 at its new home on Pier 15 on the Embarcadero, where visitors of all ages can explore hundreds of hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity and encourage playful discovery. The Exploratorium is a pioneer in the field of interactive exhibits, with over 600 on the floor at a time, all of them made in-house. Here you can hug a tornado, step inside a giant bubble, watch a dissection, and much, much more!

Famplosion strives for 100% accuracy in all of our listings. However, we recommend checking with the venue prior to your visit especially for special holiday hours or event schedule changes.

Tips

We recommend budgeting between 2 and 4 hours for your trip to the museum. We do have a cafe and restaurant. The Exploratorium is appropriate for all ages, but adult visitors will especially enjoy our Thursday evenings, when the museum closes to the general public at 5pm and reopens from 6pm to 10pm for 18+ only with a cash bar.

Any kids who likes to touch things at a museum will love this one - an entire warehouse of things to press, pull, fidget with and experiment with. It is fun for scientists of all ages.
