The Frye Art Museum is dedicated to artistic inquiry, a rich visitor experience, and civic responsibility. A primary catalyst for our engagement with contemporary art and artists is the Founding Collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth century art by Munich-based artists. Admission to the Museum will always be free.

Located on Seattle’s First Hill, the Frye Art Museum displays works from the Frye Founding Collection of 232 paintings by Munich-based artists. The Museum also hosts notable exhibitions of works by recognized and emerging artists from around the world.

In keeping with our commitment to the community, the Frye offers many public programs for art lovers of all ages, including school tours, studio workshops, art history lectures, film, and music, many of which are free.

A great free museum, and better than I would have expected for a small museum.
