The Madison Square Park Conservancy is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to keeping historic Madison Square Park a bright, beautiful and active public park. Madison Square Park, a 6.2-acre urban oasis, is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron District at 23rd Street between Madison and Fifth avenues. The Conservancy raises the funds that support lush and brilliant horticulture, park maintenance, park security and a variety of free cultural programs such as MAD. SQ. KIDS, MAD.SQ. MUSIC, MAD.SQ.ART, MAD.SQ.STUDIO, and MAD.SQ. READS.

The Madison Square Park Conservancy announces its ground-breaking free educational program, the Exploration Station. Already the home to great family programs and festivals, the Conservancy now deepens the educational basis of its youth programs. The Mad. Sq. Kids Exploration Station is designed for family visitors to explore the many learning opportunities in the park. It is available every weekday from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the playground of the park (near Madison Ave and 25th Street). The playground activities coordinator is on hand to help visitors choose appropriate activities.

The Exploration Station includes self-guided activities that transform the park into a learning laboratory where you and your children explore through play and discovery. There are five themes: Art in the Park, Science & Nature, Stepping Through Time, Park Patrol, and A Playground Adventure. See below for sample activities – print them out and bring an activity next time you visit! All materials (paper, crayons, etc) and selected activities are available at the Station.
