The Children‘s Museum of Utah was founded in 1978 by a group of dedicated parents, educators, and community leaders who all believed that children learn best by doing. Driven by a deep desire to make a difference, this group of founders spearheaded the development of the original Children‘s Museum of Utah. But The Children‘s Museum of Utah was really just the first chapter.
The dream of a world-class, hands-on learning center for children is now finally a reality thanks to an innovative community initiative led by The Children‘s Museum of Utah in partnership with Junior Achievement of Utah, and Salt Lake County.
On September 16, 2006 The Children‘s Museum of Utah officially became Discovery Gateway.
Discovery Gateway is the premier children‘s museum in Utah providing engaging interactive activities that inspire learning in children and fun for the whole family. Discovery Gateway opens up a world of possibilities and inspires children and the adults in their lives to consider endless career opportunities as they share the moment of discovery together.
