Camp Shi’ini is a Native American Indian themed day camp that lasts five weeks each summer. Shi’ini, pronounced “Shee-nee,” is a Navajo word meaning “Summer People.” Our theme is portrayed in several daily events, including: horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, archery, bear hunting, athletics, hiking, games, crafts, swimming, and an extraordinary month-long treasure hunt adventure! While at camp, the children are broken into various groups according to their ages. Each of these groups functions as a separate unit throughout the day. There are a dozen groups, each composed of 12 campers and 2 counselors. Our 6:1 camper-to-counselor-ratio is one of the very best throughout all of Los Angeles and Southern California!

Famplosion strives for 100% accuracy in all of our listings. However, we recommend checking with the venue prior to your visit especially for special holiday hours or event schedule changes.

This is a fabulous day camp - the best in San Gabriel area! My three kids have attended every summer since they have been "of age" and will continue to do so. I feel like they are in competent, caring hands and they feel like they are independent, active and on an adventure. I love the pick up and drop off at home. I cannot say enough good things about the owners Noah and Peter and the many great counselors.

Can't Shi'ini has been an integral part of our summer life over the past ten years. Both my son and daughter love the fantasy adventure storyline, the unique experiencias such as archery. hiking, casting for fish, crafts and more. Two thumbs up!

Shi'ini is definitely the coolest camp in Pasadena, and it has been for years. I attended the camp back in the late 1970s and it still has the same basic activities. Lots of history and I really enjoy the Native American Indian theme that the camp showcases. My son Brady is genuinely interested in Native American history and culture now thanks to Camp Shi'ini. We're going to be back next summer, and every summer until he is old enough to work as a Junior Counselor. (That's his new dream job!) THE LONG FAMILY LOVES CAMP SHI'INI!

My son attended in '11 and '12 and just loved it. I'm sending him again next summer every day. They run a quality program and have tremendous counselors. I love how the camp is close-by and that they pick up and drop off my son directly home each day. I highly recommend Camp Shi'ini to anyone with kids who enjoy old-fashioned, outdoor fun! - Megan W.

We very highly recommend Camp Shi'ini to the San Marino and Pasadena communities. The camp is a perfect and affordable way to spend the summer. My daughter went in 2010, had to do summer school in 2011, and then returned to camp in 2012. She loves Camp Shi'ini. They pick her up directly from my home each morning at 8:30 and bring her home nice and tired at 4:30. It's a very good camp for kids who have good imaginations and like the outdoors. We endorse it fully. A+.

Our next door neighbor had sent his daughter to the camp for a few years, and after continuously hearing how great it was, my wife and I decided to give it a try this past summer. We were VERY impressed. It's an amazing experience for all the kids, and my son had the time of his life. He still has on display in his room a gigantic 4-foot-tall totem pole that he painted over the course of the entire summer. He is so proud of it. He also got to ride ponies, swim, play in teepees, hike, and go canoeing. And those were all REGULAR activities at the camp. My wife had to make him lunch each day, and I wish the camp had provided food. But other than that, this is am amazing camping experience. We will be back next year.

Oh wow, this is an amazing camp. If you have never tried it, you really should. They have everything -- horse back riding and canoes and bows and arrows and hikes, and heroes and villains that get involved in a treasure hunt that really captivates the children. My 2 oldest kids go and I am going to start sending my little ones next summer. It's safe and good, clean fun. I highly recommend it!

My son, Stephen, did Camp Shi'ini for the very first time last summer, and I just signed him up again. Stephen talked all fall and winter about how much fun he had at this camp. They put on this interactive-treasure-hunt-adventure, where the kids are seeking an American Indian treasure ... only there are real life Villains from the Old West trying to stop them, and heroes helping them. So creative. So innovative. And so much fun! -Brittany Khoury

Camp Shi'ini is the only camp in town with LEGITIMATE activities. Their archery and canoeing programs have been so much fun for my two daughters, and their swimming, horseback riding, crafts and treasure hunts are unbelievably incredible. The effort and care that the counselors put into their jobs is second-to-none. I whole-heartily recommended Camp Shi'ini to everyone!

My name is Kara and I just enrolled my two daughters for the Tuesday/Thursday session of camp Shi'ini. They both attended last summer and had the time of their lives. Peter and Noah (the brothers whom own the camp) made sure that my girls were placed in groups with all of their friends from school, so as to ensure that they felt comfortable at camp. It is so comforting knowing that the owners of the camp will move heaven and earth to ensure that my kids have a good time. I sincerely recommend Camp Shi'ini to everyone. This is the best camp...period! -K.Olsen

My oldest son attended 3 years and loved it. My middle son attended 4 years and loved it even more. And now my little girl is signed up to start her Shi'ini career this upcoming summer. This is by far the best camp in town. My entire family loves their interactive treasure hunt with real-life heroes and villains appearing before the campers. It's like a live-action old-west movie that the campers get to experience first hand and play a role in. And the treasure they find are quite cool too. I completely recommend this camp to anyone with kids in Pasadena area. -Dr. Linda W.

My husband and I love the individual attention that Camp Shi'ini offers. The camp is the perfect size and we love how all of their van drivers / senior counselors are all 20 years old or older. The other camps in town have 17 and 18 year old van drivers and that is way to young to be driving my kids. Camp Shi'ini does it right. And their activities are all A+ too.

Signed up for another summer of Camp Shi'ini excitement. My daughter Sarah loves their canoeing program and their arts & crafts. She has brought home so many cool Native American crafts over the years, and I keep them all. Way to go Camp Shi'ini Summer Camp! I strongly recommend it for San Gabriel Valley families.

We signed our son up in 2010 and then opted for a different camp in 2011 because his friends were doing something different. Leaving Camp Shi'ini was the biggest mistake ever! My son disliked the other camp so much that I called Camp Shi'ini mid-summer to see if they had room for him. Shi'ini was sold out so I enrolled by son early this year to attend Camp Shi'ini daily. He absolutely loves it and I would recommend it highly to anybody. Their archery program is fantastic (complete with different awards the kids earn) and their treasure hunt storyline is captivating, even for me and I'm 39 years old. I love hearing about Camp Shi'ini every day when my son comes home to tell me about the day's adventure. Camp Shi'ini is the hottest Camp in the Pasadena area, and for good reason!

I just registered my 2 kids for their third straight summer of Camp Shi'ini. My youngest has been coming since age 4 and both kids LOVE it. The camp's treasure hunt is absolutely amazing and there is literally nothing like it around. Thumbs up all around for Camp Shi'ini and their remarkable staff.
