Mission Statement
The New London Theatre's mission is to provide high-quality family-oriented entertainment and education at an affordable price.
Several people have asked me about the future of The New London Theatre.
"By September of 2007, New London will have its own location."
That was written in 2004, and it has indeed happened. Now, with the challenge of leasing our own space at $4,000.00 a month, comes the challenge of staying true to our mission of being able to provide entertainment and education at an affordable price while being able to pay our rent. To that end, we're producing eight shows a year, each for a three-weekend run. We'll also begin offering classes as soon as possible for all ages. We'll be holding summer camp for several weeks, instead of the one-week in years past.
We also need to do a much better job of fundraising. If the community believes that a community theatre is an asset to this area, then it needs to help financially. Please take a moment to talk to our local government officials and tell them you believe the New London Theatre is worthy of its support.
Our future is directly tied to the bottom line. If we can continue to cover our costs, then we'll continue to offer as much as possible. But all of the individuals in New London Theatre are volunteers, and none of us is able to take a financial risk.
I believe a community theatre should involve as many people as possible. With a building of our own, we will be able to offer a variety of shows year-round. The Fine Arts is an added incentive to those people moving into the area, and the south Gwinnett area needs this incentive.
Four years ago, I wrote that, and it still is true. But we need your help.
