Natural History Museum of Utah at the Rio Tinto Center

(301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108) Experience Utah’s remarkable natural history from the ground up. The new Natural History Museum of Utah at the Rio Tinto Center is an architectural wonder, a place where science is alive, accessible, entertaining and simply awe-inspiring. Now with engaging new exhibits and five times more artifacts on display, it’s a treasure trove of jaw-dropping dinosaurs, fascinating objects, amazing science, geological wonders and stories of living history.

Journey to the top of a three-story indoor canyon for a unique perspective on one of the country’s most innovatively designed museums. Wander through, under and around some of Utah’s very own dinosaurs. Interact with our Science on a Sphere and discover what our world looked like eons ago. Or count the more than 800 specimens in our towering Collections Wall.

You can also immerse yourself in the stories of Utah’s native peoples, past and present. Step outside onto our observatory deck and take in the stunning views of the entire Salt Lake Valley. And hike the Shoreline trail, directly outside our doors. It’s all here in a museum unlike anything you’ve ever seen. We invite you to explore this inspiring space, engage with the incredible exhibits, and experience the wonders of our natural history, as only Utah can reveal them.
